Silkmoth’s servers are hosted by Internet Facilitators (www.internetf.co.uk) in their secure data centre in Manchester (IFL2). Facilities and services include:
- Full air-conditioning maintaining constant temperature and humidity below 20 deg C.
- Full UPS and auxiliary generator backup. These generators can maintain full power to the entire facility for seven days.
- VESDA smoke detection and FM200 Fire suppression systems.
- 24/7/365 Manned security. This is a locked facility with access by photographic identity card to contract customers and service provider staff only. Intruder detection and alarms include full CCTV coverage inside and out, motion detectors and roof/under-floor alarms. RFID key-fobs control access to specific areas of the building. Silkmoth hardware is located in a locked rack with keys available to Silkmoth and IFL staff only. This rack has an independent power supply and cable runs, isolating it from any faults, accidents or misuse occurring in other parties’ rack-space.
- 24/7/365 technical support staff available at IFL to handle emergency situations and “remote-hands” requests.
Silkmoth provides 24/7/365 technical support. We're just forty minutes travelling time from the facility. Emergency backup hardware is maintained in constant readiness at the Silkmoth office in Macclesfield.
