ASP.NET Support Developer

Silkmoth is a successful software/web company that is expanding. As a result we are looking to recruit a dedicated support developer to join our development team.

Responsibilities

The vacancy offers the post holder the opportunity to join a successful team to work on practical applications of leading edge technology within the context of web development.

We are seeking an individual capable of maintaining, supporting and extending existing clients' websites and software systems. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to be involved in new development work.

Person Specification

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Must have a proven track record of working within a Web design environment
  • Must be degree calibre in Computer Science or a similar discipline
  • In depth experience of HTML, DHTML, XML, ASP.NET, C#, and JavaScript
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft SQLServer, T-SQL, Microsoft Visual Studio, SourceSafe
  • Ability to work flexibly in a multi-disciplinary team in which roles may evolve, tasks may change and customer requirements are not always well specified
  • Good communication and presentation skills; including the ability to relate in depth technical details to both a technical and non technical audience.

Particulars of Appointment

  1. We would like the role initially to be part time with flexible working hours to suit the post holder. As such, this role would suit someone returning to work after a period out of the job market or someone with family committments that require school time hours.
  2. Salary will be competitive and dependent on relevant experience and qualifications. The company also offers a private healthcare plan and a contributory pension scheme as additional benefits following a period of employment

Desired Skills & Experience

Responsibilities of the role will include using the following core technologies to support, maintain and upgrade web sites using the following skills:

•HTML /XML
•ASP.NET /C#
•Microsoft SQL Server

Experience

The candidate should be degree qualified (or equivalent) and must have at least 2 years experience of building retail and database-driven websites and web services with the above technologies.

The candidate should have working knowledge of content management systems, their design and application.

The candidate should also have proven experience of working directly with clients.

Silkmoth Ltd is a software and website development company based in the Cheshire town of Macclesfield. The company was taken over eight years ago by the current management team. Since that time the company has attracted contracts from a wide variety of companies from small local engineering firms to huge multi-nationals. Much of this business has been retained on an ongoing basis. Recently Silkmoth has won several contracts to build high specification web sites for a number of high profile clients.
