Haven’t We Done Well!
Three years after the successful management buy out we’ve taken time out to pause and look at the benefits our customers are getting from our work.
Every month Silkmoth customers get upwards of half a million visitors. 300,000 web pages have been indexed by Google and millions of pounds worth of e-commerce is done. The range of businesses that Silkmoth have developed web sites and applications for is vast. From finance companies to retailers, from engineering companies to charities.
To summarise some of our successes:
These are all SME businesses who are using the web to generate enquiries. For more information about all of these sites, have a look at our Portfolio.
Now we have patted ourselves on the back, the work continues.

Great news for the avid Tesco Clubcard point collector. You can now have 1 clubcard point for every pound spent at www.tyre-shopper.co.uk.
Silkmoth has taken the decision to sell one of their in-house innovative web sites. The Claim Team web site was designed and built by Silkmoth to see if it was possible to collect a large number of enquiries from people who thought they might be eligible to make a personal injury claim.
After 18 months the site has nearly 13,000 pages indexed in Google. Silkmoth made the decision to sell the site to a firm that could make use of the traffic and the enquiries it generates.
The lucky purchasers are Scott Rees and Company. They have taken possession of the four Claim Team domain names, are having the sites reskinned with their own corporate styling and have taken technical advice from Silkmoth about hosting.
Carl Dean, Silkmoth’s Technical Director said:
"In a way we are sorry to see Claim Team go. We were just having one of those days when we thought I wonder if ……. and Claim Team was born. It has been much more successful than we ever could have anticipated and we have learnt a lot from going through the process"
Silkmoth will continue to build innovative web sites and the staff at the company are hoping that the Claim Team experience can now be extended to benefit a broader customer base.
09 November 2006 Silkmoth has won the contract to build a new web site for the Girlguiding Cheshire Border. The organisation currently sends out 700 newsletters a month, all of which need photocopying, putting in envelopes and posting. The new site will incorporate a newsletter feature that will enable most of the content to be sent out electronically.

The partnership between Silkmoth and Bensons for Beds has just celebrated its 5th anniversary. Five years ago selling beds on the internet was seen as a bit of a gamble. The general feeling in the industry was that a bed needed to be lain on before a customer would commit to buy.
However, despite this pessimism, the Bensons for Beds management team were determined to try selling through the web. The site has been a runaway success. Visitor numbers, numbers of sales and the turnover through the site has, on average, doubled every year for the last five years.
This is despite very difficult retail trading conditions generally.
Silkmoth is now looking forward to continuing its relationship with Bensons for a further five years.
