The Spinal Foundation has been pioneering minimally invasive back surgery since 1990 and is a non-profit making charity. The skilled doctors draw on years of experience and offer revolutionary keyhole spinal surgery. They needed a web site that attracted interest in the techniques and informed potential recipients of what was available to them. The site content had to include easy reading medical facts and reassurance that the procedures are safe and relatively pain free. Ultimately the Foundation wants to increase the number of people who are prepared to undertake the revolutionary surgery.
The new web site www.spinal-foundation.org was developed in only two weeks, particularly impressive as on average a typical Silkmoth web site usually takes 6-8 weeks. The commitment of the Silkmoth staff was matched by the timely arrival of over 100 pages of written content from the Spinal Foundation. The site includes detailed information for patients on various spine disorders, how key hole surgery works and the principle and advantages of keeping patients awake during the procedure. It also includes a comprehensive frequently asked questions section.
The new Silkmoth site enables Spinal Foundation staff to create and maintain new web site content. They have been trained to do this by utilising the WireNet™ Content Management System developed by Silkmoth and now used by a large number of their customers. The organisation will be able to update the site with news stories, case studies and patient testimonials.
Silkmoth's role as a web partner will be to provide ongoing help and support and technical expertise by establishing and maintaining a web site that competes well in the market place, achieves good search engine visibility and provides a compelling call to action for the chronic back ache sufferer.
