Mybiggerpicture.com had a list of over a 1000 photographers interested in selling their products to their own clients. They wanted to enable this potential market to access an offshoot of the existing site and place orders using a different pricing model to the existing one. This new arm of the site had to be capable of uploading high resolution images, keep track of orders and allow online payment through WorldPay.
The brief resulted in the development of www.mybiggerphoto.com. The new site enables photographers to buy samples of the www.mybiggerpicture.com products to show as examples to their own customers at trade prices. The site has a shopping basket and clear instructions on how to purchase using the customers own images. They can then review their shopping basket and checkout.
The new trade site makes orders easy to administer. The company can now add new users, update information and delete users. The order history can also be reviewed for each user. Invoices can be created and printed out from the website. Statistics of user behaviour and order history are also available from the administration area.
The site has been up and running for four months and hundreds of photographers have already registered and placed orders. Carl Dean, Technical Director of Silkmoth said "this site is an example of how a simple low cost extension can increase your business."
