Silkmoth has been awarded a contract by Royal Mail to provide independent software testing services. All resellers of Royal Mail's National Change of Address (NCOA) database must undergo formal testing of their products.
The selection process was rigorous and required demonstration of both technical software skills, independence from the addressing and postcoding market and strict procedures to ensure confidentiality and security of both the prospective software vendors' intellectual property and Royal Mail's highly confidential database of consumer name and address details.
The contract covers review of software specifications prior to creation of the software product as well as software testing and compliance reporting.
In order to satisfy Royal Mail's requirements Silkmoth is actively working towards compliance with British Standard BS 7799.
